Thanks for the clarifications!

I didn't mean that the communication problem would make your suggested changes impractical in general, just that I think we need to make sure that we tackle this problem first or at the very least at the same time. I know that Volcom and Board are working on some things in this direction, which is great, but I haven't seen much progress so far - which is not a big surprise, to plan these things well takes time, but I don't know how long it will take and how fast we can expect things to improve. Yes, we can use our experienced managers better and we can train our chairs better and build our own managers, but it will take time.

I don't think your proposal would lead to more communication troubles overall if we have figured out a better way to communicate in general, in committees and between committees. I don't know exactly how much of an issue this currently is in other committees, but we recently had discussions about this in Wiki and I would be very surprised if we were the only ones for whom this can be tricky. It would probably lead to more people being members of more than one committee, but many seem to do that already and I don't think it's a big problem.

I agree that this split would make things clearer for a lot of other committees as well. I'm not sure if it would make things easier or harder for us in Wiki - it probably depends on if we have our own tech person (which we now have, yay!) We need something of everything. But it would definitely be much easier on Systems ;)

Sure, just drop aethel a note and I'm sure she'll arrange something.
